Deaf History

International Day of People with disAbilities, D/deaf with disAbilities and D/deaf people

The theme for IDPD this year is “Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world.”

#IDPD | #EveryoneIncluded | #CRPD

Wow, time flies, and it is nearing the Christmas season, BUT there is a critical day for everyone who has disabilities worldwide. People with disabilities, D/deaf people with disabilities and D/deaf people have been out there in society for many years.

There is still much more work to do, like making equal access to all technologies, buildings, transports, or employment. In New Zealand, it is a bit slow, but we are in the processing of setting up a new minister role in the Government – a Minister of Disability in 2022. However, we do not have a few missing items in New Zealand, a legislation law for all disabled people, D/deaf with disabilities and D/deaf people in our Government, for example, Disability Act.

Let celebrate and share with everyone in society today.
